“Makh Impex” JSC is one of the first meat factories in Mongolia, first founded in 1946 in in order to provide the population of capital city with meat and meat products. Over 20 years after the factory was put into operation, the demand for employee workforce and t supply of meat and meat products to foreign countries increased, thus, in order to increase its capacity, with technical and economic assistance of Federal Republic of Germany, the first facility was expanded in 1968 and the second facility in 1972.
Our company alone accounts for 60% of total market of meat and meat products of Mongolia, of which 60% is in capital city of Ulaanbaatar and 40% in rural areas. “Makh Impex” JSC is affiliated with JENCO GROUP and the group is successfully operating in business sectors in meat and meat products, flour, bakery products, tourism and social media.
Shortly after the victory of the People's Revolution in October 1921, number of gers and mud houses was built at Capital Khuree, now on the slopes of Ikh Naran in Ulaanbaatar and started slaughtering livestock. This activity was the first industrial base in Mongolia and was designed to meet needs of state entities of that time.
In 1930, domestic livestock slaughter and processing of livestock intestines in an affordable method was adopted and 200,000 loops of livestock intestines were exported annually. During the period, it was not possible to develop meat industry on a ready-made industrial base and it mainly supplied its products for official and military needs.
The proposal submitted by Ministry of Trade and Procurement to Council of Ministers on November 24, 1937 implied that: “It is important to start building a new meat processing factory from now on in order to register and use various types of raw material from livestock slaughter and to organize operation of Meat Factory of Ulaanbaatar in consideration of development of national economy, culture and education” and further, it became foundation of new meat factory.
The Government of People's Republic of Mongolia invited experts from the Soviet Union to conduct an on-site survey and draw up a design and budget for Ulaanbaatar Meat Processing Factory and decision on foundation of new Meat Processing Factory was made by Resolution of 13/40 Joint Meeting of Presidium of State Baga Hural and members of Council of Ministers in 1940

It was commissioned in early July 1946, just before the 25th anniversary of state.
The rapid growth of population of capital city, expansion of foreign relations, and rapid development of agricultural processing industry, especially leather processing industry have necessitated an increase in meat production and in relation with it, construction of larger capacity meat processing factory was decided in early 1960s.
The construction of meat processing factory started in 1963, the first shift was commissioned in 1968, and the second shift was commissioned in 1971.
In terms of capacity, it was determined by "processing 160 head of cattle, 1,200 head of small livestock, 25 head of pigs, 1.5 tons of sausages and producing 500 cans of canned food in a shift"

The new Meat Processing Factory had its own livestock base, including a complex of processing and refrigeration plants, a sausage cannery plant, a bone processing plant, a service plant, a central repair shop, a laboratory, and administrative buildings.
It was planned and implemented to organize training and internships for skilled workers of meat processing factory at similar factories in the Federal republic of Germany and other countries. In 1973, more than 40 workers were trained at Meat Processing Factory in Berlin. Since then, 100-150 people have visited the Meat Processing Factory every year to study and work as apprentices.
